Notification for the Final B. Tech Admission against Vacant Seats (AY – 2026-27)

As per the instructions of the Government of West Bengal, Higher Education Department, vide Memo No. 380 DTED – 18099/6/2023-JD(DTED) – DTED, the Institute has already conducted admissions through Online Centralized Counselling (CAP) and Online Decentralized Counselling (DCAP). Applications are now invited from eligible candidates for admission against the remaining vacant seats in the following B.Tech programmes. Admission will be strictly based on merit, subject to eligibility criteria and applicable government/university guidelines.

2. Application Procedure

4. Instructions for the Applicants

  1. Candidates must ensure that all information provided is correct and all required documents are submitted in the prescribed format.
  2. Selection will be made strictly on the basis of merit, eligibility and availability of seats.
  3. Publication of the selected candidates’ list is subject to successful physical document verification and fulfilment of the admission requirements.
  4. Selected candidates must appear for physical document verification on the scheduled date with all original documents and the required photocopies.

Eligibility Criteria

For B. Tech
Candidates seeking admission in the Institute are required to pass Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination of W.B Council of Higher Secondary Education or any other recognized Board or University with 45% marks in Science Group (Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics). In all B.Tech courses, 90% students of approved intake capacity will be admitted on the basis of merit position secured by the candidate in the Joint Entrance Examination of the State. Students on the basis of merit position in JEE MAIN may also be admitted up to 10% of total intake.

Diploma Holders in Engineering /Technology qualifying in West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination for Lateral Entry (JELET) are eligible on the basis of merit position for admission in the 3rd semester (2nd year) of B.Tech course.

For MBA
Any graduate (10+2+3/4) with valid MAT/JEMAT score.

For MCA
Candidates with the following eligibility can take admission in the 2-year MCA program approved by AICTE.**

  • Students who have passed Bachelor of Computer Application or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent degree
  • Students who have passed Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Arts with mathematics at 10+2 or at the graduation level with additional bridge courses as per the norms of the concerned university
  • Candidates must have obtained at least 50 percent marks, or 45 percent marks in the case of candidates belonging to reserved categories, in the qualifying examination
** Students who don’t have mathematics in graduation standard will have to attend mandatory Bridge Course

  5. Age Proof Certificate (Birth Certificate/Madhyamik/10th Std. Admit Card)-(Original) and Photocopy (02 sets).
  6. Madhyamik/10th Level Marks Sheet/Grade Card-(Original) plus and Photocopy (02 sets).
  7. Higher Secondary/10+2 Std. Marks Sheet/Grade Card-(Original) and Photocopy (02 sets).
