About the Department
The Department of Information Technology at the Durgapur Institute of Advanced Technology & Management was formed in 2002. The first undergraduate batch rolled out in the year 2006. Since its inception, the department has always been recognized all over the world for excellence in research and teaching. The Department provides an outstanding research environment complemented by superior teaching for its students to flourish in. Graduates from the department are heavily recruited by both academia and industry.

Headed by Prof. Amit Dutta the department has a team of highly experienced and motivated faculty members. All the Faculty members are well qualified and competitive enough in preparing the students or global competition. Students of IT department are highly motivated and ready for IT Industry with hands on experience on current technologies/ programming languages. Students of IT Department achieve remarkable position in University and are working with Top level IT companies.
Students are facilitated with Personality Development Program, Communication Classes for better placements. Competitive exams, quizzes and other co curricular activities are the part of schedule. Sports, Co curricular and extracurricular activities takes place at Institute level and students participate in various Intra-College, Inter-College, Inter-University fests/competitions.
Above all, the entire teaching fraternity of the Department of Information Technology looks forward to the holistic growth of the department and they aim at doing something extraordinarily remarkable in the academic arena of Information technology.
