About Central Library
The central Library, DIATM is housed in an area of about 13815 sq. ft. and organized into various sections which are maintained by professionally qualified and skilled staff. We have a rich collection around 35,000 volumes in Engineering with around 3,500 titles. All the books are classified according to Dewey Decimal Classification & arranged in the classified order on shelves and are catalogued according to AACR II . The library is fully automated with library software with BAR CODEING facilities. To keep its readers up to date with the latest developments in Engineering and Technology, the library is subscribing to 54 National and 23 International Journals in Print form. We are maintaining the Book bank system.
About Librarian
Librarian, Dr. Susanta Koley is highly knowledgeable and experienced person serving past 10 years for the central library of DIATM. He has introduced modern technologies for cataloging system and issuance of books. A very devoted team is also there to support and assist him for the day to day activities. Apart from that the team is dedicatedly engaged regarding the library developmental work and keep themselves up-to-date with modern and relevant publication news and book reviews.

e-Library / Multimedia Library
Multimedia / e-Library is a hub of innovation and learning equipped with state-of-the-art multimedia and e-library facilities. Our library boasts a dedicated multimedia section with 10 high-performance computers, providing students and faculty with access to a vast array of digital resources.
Our e-library offers an extensive collection of e-books, online journals, and research databases, ensuring that the latest academic materials are always at your fingertips. These resources support diverse research and coursework needs, enhancing the educational experience.
The multimedia library enables interactive learning through access to educational software, simulation tools, and multimedia content. This environment fosters creativity and practical understanding, vital for engineering students.
Book Bank
The philosophy behind the concept of Book Bank is to give financial relief to the economically weaker sections of the students. Under this scheme member-students avail themselves of five books per semester and they can keep these books with them during the tenure of the semester. Altogether they can use forty books during the eight semester period of their stay in the college against token charge of Rs. 2000/- (payable in two installments during first and second semesters). Keeping in mind the requirement of the students.
Journal Section
The college library occupies a position of pride and immense importance at DIATM. It offers computerized circulation facilities and a wide range of information based serving ranging from text and reference books, magazines and periodicals to specialized journals. The DIATM library is an authentic knowledge repository with over 76 National and International journals (E-journals included) and 24 magazines of repute.
Reading Room Facility
DIATM library has an exceptionally large and beautiful reading room facility for the students and has a separate well furnished room for the staff members. There is a separate section equipped with computers with internet facility. Most of the staff members at their off period loves to spend at library for its ambience and availability of modern books and journals.
As there are library periods offered to the student to grow their reading habit and to motivate them to learn the modern scientific developments apart from the curriculum as well, always a good number of students use the library separated by batches of different years.
Other Facilities
The library provides both demanding and anticipatory library services to the users. The services provided are:
- Photocopying service: Journal articles and other materials that are not lent out can be photocopied for a nominal charge.
- Inter library loan service: Books/journal articles that are not available in our library can be procured from DELNET or other college libraries of the RAHUL FOUNDATION.
- Newspaper service: Library subscribes 05 daily newspapers for the benefit of its users.
- Question paper service: Question papers of all the engineering examination are collected for the benefit of students.
- Internet service: Students can use internet for accessing the online sources for up to date information.
