About the Department


The Department of Electrical Engineering of D.I.A.T.M. offers well-experienced and young energetic faculties run undergraduate course. We invite distinguished academicians and persons having long exposure to industries to deliver lecture and interact with our students. The objective is to groom our learners properly and update tem on the latest development in the field of electrical engineering. Seminars are conducted periodically to stimulate their inquisitiveness and whet their appetite for knowledge. Veterans among the faculty members guide M.Tech and PhD project for the betterment of their junior colleagues. Our faculty members have several research publications to their credit. Some of them have even authored textbook for B.Tech and M.Tech students.

Prof. Saikat Ghosh is currently chaired as Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering Department, DIATM. He is attached with this Institution since 2018 and pursuing Ph.D. from NIT Durgapur. He obtained his Master of Technology (M.Tech) degree in Electrical Engineering from NIT Arunachal Pradesh in 2017. He did his graduation (B.Tech) in Electrical Engineering from College of Engineering and Management, Kolaghat in 2015. He has 4 publications in reputed journals and conferences. His research interests include Power electronics and drives, Renewable Energy, Electrical Machine etc.

The departmental faculty members also provide on-campus free coaching classes for various competitive examinations & Govt. jobs like IAS, IPS, IES, PSC, Power sectors, Indian Railways etc. Teachers also provide evening GATE Coaching for boarders.
