In recent year the Electronics & Communication Engineering plays an important role to tackle the spontaneous process of information explosion. For ever changing satellite communication, fiber optic communication, mobile communication and so on, the ultimate solution can be obtained through this branch of engineering.
Establish in 2002 in the rural environment of Rajbandh, the DIATM is now a premiere Institution in the Durgapur-Panagarh belt, offering at present the B.Tech degree under WBUT with an intake of 90 students. The mission of the department is to provide the technically advanced academic atmosphere to its students so that they can be well fitted in the changing scenery of the communication world. The vision of the department is established liaison between the similar types of institution so that both our faculties and students can have strong tide with door enhancing learning and the knowing the process.
Faculty: The department has a good blend and well qualified teachers capable of imparting the state of the art of Electronics to their peoples.

The laboratory facility available in electronics department of DIATM is also admirable. There is a huge collection of instruments like CRO, Function Generator, Spectrum Analyzer and many more of various types of instrument of Electronics & Communication Engineering. There is also a ready supply of electronics related journals and magazines. The department has a departmental library facility where each student has the access of books for each subject as per requirement. Apart from these book bank facilities are given from Central Library of DIATM.Students are the biggest asset of our department. The success rate of ECE students in this college is exceptionally high due to validate their theoretical knowledge with practical data. They have a huge opportunity to develop their own idea into practicability with the help of provided laboratory facilities as well as software and hardware.
