EDC-DIATM has been rewarded with the Championship Award (East) along with the Best Impact Institute award based on the entrepreneurial activities performed by the students associated with this cell for E-Week 2016 at Heritage Business School, Anandapur Kolkata on 5th March,2016. In addition to this EDC-DIATM is involved in carrying out entrepreneurial activities independently based on a long awaited grant of Rs 2 lakh recommended by AICTE in times to come.Our honorable principal, Prof. ( Dr.) P.K. Sinha , Chief Coordinator of EDC-DIATM has suggested the mentor group [Dr. D.Ghosh (CHE), Mr. A.Chatterjee (EE),Ms. N.SinhaRoy (ECE) & Ms. S.Saha (ECE)] to diversify the activities and harness the entrepreneurial potential among the students more than ever before.
An amount of Rs. 4.00 lakhs (Rupees Four lakhs) only had been sanctioned in favour of DIATM by AICTE as Grant-In-Aid for the financial years 2011-2012 and 2012-13. We have already received the 1st phase grant of Rs. 2.00 lakhs(Rupees Two lakhs) for which utilization certificate has been submitted. Meanwhile, the Grant-In-Aid has been enhanced to Rs. 6.5 lakhs by the AICTE for the same financial year. We are expecting the balance amount from the AICTE. Another Rs. 1.50 lakhs(Rupees one lakh fifty thousand) has been sanctioned by them, in the head of Non-Plan Grant, after verification of the previous Accounts.
EDC-DIATM works as a partner of Wadhwani Foundation’s rapidly-growing National Entrepreneurship Network, and joins a select group of partners in 20 countries spreading across Asia, Latin America and Africa.
DIATM is one of the top 150 institutes in India and has initiated a special association with Wadhwani Foundation to establish mainstreaming Entrepreneurship Programs towards the creation of a strong and sustainable entrepreneurship ecosystems in the campus.
In our institute 2 faculty have been selected by the Global Training Institute of Wadhwani Foundation for attending 150-day Faculty Development program for educating and mentoring student entrepreneurs and also helps student startups accelerate their growth through model programs for Institute Accelerator and Incubators.
The Faculty Development program is a comprehensive certification program with a blend of classroom training and sustained digital coaching. The Program is divided into 3 Phases:
Phase I – “Immerse” – Online Mode for 3 weeks
Phase II – “Experience” – 9 days Intensive Training — In-Class Mode
Phase III -“Engage” – Online mode with 2 instances of 3-day in-class sessions for 16 weeks.
